Endemol, SMG ink China pact

LONDON -- Endemol and Shanghai Media Group have pacted to build up and convey content via their subsidies Endemol Asia and Entertainment Team Media Group. The fare is going to be targeted at both Chinese and worldwide marketplaces. Endemol would be to retain exclusive distribution and format privileges outdoors China for brand new IP taught in partnership, while SMG may have the same privileges in China. The happy couple will begin a joint creative team, and collaborate on making local Chinese version of Endemol's shows, including "Your Government" and "Deal or No Deal." SMG is China's second biggest broadcaster, and works 15 free-to-air webs channels, 35 pay channels, plus interests in radio, print, IPTV and mobile TV. Entertainment Team, which bowed in April, both supplies and acquires content.
